      Description

Whenever the kernel starts up, there is a brief pause while ehcache phones home to see if there is a new version. I would argue that this is nearly always wasted motion – nobody is looking through the logs for messages that ehcache could be upgraded. Adding "upgradeCheck='false'" to the ehcache configuration should suppress this call-out.

Here's what the log message looks like:
      INFO net.sf.ehcache.util.UpdateChecker @ New update(s) found: 2.4.7 http://www.terracotta.org/confluence/display/release/Release+Notes+Ehcache+Core+2.4
