Looking for an answer to one of my sites' problems, I found this ticket:
all from 2015. The ticket was closed as "answered" (though "won't fix" might apply more?); nothing was changed. I would like to reopen this discussion.
One of my sites is exclusively a collection of newspaper issues from a single newspaper. The administrator wants advanced search, and wants the title available as a field in advanced search, but does not want the title to be the choice that is selected by default when the user goes to the advanced search page.
However, IF a title field is set as one of the advanced search options, it is selected, no matter what order they appear in the select list. There is no place to change this default.
Since it is possible to configure advanced search fields without using dc.date, there is no reason that dc.date should be forced as the default in the event that it is chosen as one of the fields. It is unexpected behaviour; I would classify this as a bug.
The dc.date default should be removed.
